What to Expect
We pick you up at 4:30 PM from your hotel or Airbnb in Puerto Escondido and drive approximately 30 minutes to a beautiful, secluded beach. On the way, your private guide shares details about the turtles of the Oaxacan coast, their environment, and the important rules for ensuring the baby turtles' safety.
On arrival, you learn about the local conservation efforts — how turtle protection centres gather eggs at night and place them in special shady incubation areas at just the right temperature. Then comes the magical moment: you carefully release one or more baby turtles (depending on daily availability) and watch them instinctively flip their way across the sand toward the breaking waves. The sunset paints the sky behind them as they disappear into the white foam, beginning a journey that may carry them thousands of miles across the Pacific.
A portion of the tour price goes directly to turtle protection programmes, so your experience actively supports the survival of these endangered species. You return to your hotel by approximately 7:00 PM.
