At 5:00 PM, your local Oaxacan guide arrives at your hotel or villa with everything prepared for an evening of tasting and cultural immersion. No need to go anywhere โ€” the experience comes to you.

You taste your way through 7 artisanal mezcales made from different agave varieties, paired with traditional snacks: orange slices, peanuts, and worm salt. Your guide explains the distillation process, regional variations, and how to read the body, smoke, and finish of each pour.

From there, you explore 3 varieties of Oaxacan mole โ€” learning how dozens of ingredients including dried chiles, spices, nuts, and chocolate come together in one of the most complex sauces in the world. The session closes with 3 types of Oaxacan chocolate, tasted alongside the mezcal and mole to appreciate how all three traditions connect. Good to Know

The experience comes to you;
your guide arrives at your hotel or villa at 5:00 PM with everything set up. No transportation needed โ€” just be at your accommodation and ready to taste. The session runs until approximately 8:00 PM.
Minimum 4 participants;
this experience requires at least 4 people to book. If your group is smaller, message us on WhatsApp and we will try to combine you with another group.
Book at least 5 hours in advance;
the guide needs time to prepare all the tastings. A deposit of $250 MXN per person is required, with the remaining balance paid during the experience.
This experience involves alcohol;
you will taste 7 mezcales over 3 hours. Eat a light meal before the session. Non-alcoholic alternatives can be arranged with advance notice.
No age restriction for the food tastings;
however, mezcal is alcoholic and only served to guests 18 and older. Children can enjoy the mole and chocolate portions of the experience.
Mezcal and chocolate available for purchase;
at the end of the session, your guide can help you buy bottles of your favourite mezcales or Oaxacan chocolate to take home.
Dietary accommodations available;
vegetarian and vegan mole variations can be prepared upon request when booking. Please inform us of any allergies in advance.
