A bunch of you have been curious about the sparkling new highway between Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido, so guess what? I took a journey down this path to bring you all the deets!

Getting Around Puerto Escondido

Puerto Escondido is a compact town spread along the coast. The main neighborhoods — La Punta, Zicatela, Rinconada, El Adoquín, and El Centro — are all connected by colectivos (shared vans) that cost 10–15 pesos. Moto-taxis are available everywhere for short trips. For day trips to Mazunte, Zipolite, or Chacahua, private transfers offer the most comfortable option.
