Punta Colorada is a rugged headland in the Bacocho neighborhood of Puerto Escondido, named for the reddish hue of its rocky cliffs that glow warmly at sunrise and sunset. This natural landmark marks the western end of the bay and offers dramatic coastal scenery with crashing Pacific waves. It is a rewarding spot for a walk or a quiet moment away from the more crowded beaches, and best visited in the early morning or late afternoon for the most striking light.
